Bayside Council was established through the amalgamation of the City of Botany Bay and Rockdale City Councils. The refurbishment of Eastgardens Library and Customer Service Centre is one of the first major projects by the new Council, who were looking for an architectural approach to express ‘The Face of Bayside’. Working closely with council and stakeholders we provided an architectural solution that transformed the space and enabled a place for learning, exploration and community engagement.

The design opened up and revitalised the existing space, providing a greater sense of space through raised ceiling levels, maximising the benefit of natural light and framed ‘borrowed’ landscape views connecting the library to its surrounding context.
